Together, our vertically integrated team has built a strong reputation as a distinguished developer, builder, real estate operator and investment firm that has helped shape Florida’s landscape.

Alan S. Macken

MANAGING PARTNER

Alan Macken is the Principal of Macken Companies, a vertically integrated firm that encompasses real estate investment, development, construction, financing, and brokerage entities. Over the course of 35 years, Mr. Macken has played a crucial role in the repositioning and revitalization of neighborhoods throughout Florida. The Macken name has become synonymous with visionary planning, development, superior construction, and record-breaking sales and marketing. 

During a career that began in 1986, Mr. Macken has planned, developed, leased and sold ultra-exclusive residential properties, as well as professional office space, single-family planned unit developments, townhome communities, office condos, high-rise condominiums and retail shopping centers throughout Florida. He has been instrumental in real estate development and transactions valued in excess of $1 billion.  Many of these properties were also marketed and sold or leased through Macken Realty, his eponymous brokerage firm, which currently includes nearly 300 agents out of five offices in Dade and Broward and Orlando

Macken’s commercial portfolio has boasted an array of regional and national tenants such as Walmart, BankUnited, Circle K Corporation, 7-Eleven, Inc., Texaco Gasoline, T-Mobile, Subway, Family Dollar and Banco Popular.

As a Principal at VCM Builders, the Macken Companies’ construction affiliate, Macken’s primary focus is development and design, as well as the pursuit new business opportunities and structuring partnerships. Mr. Macken also spearheads property acquisitions and financial modeling.  

A native of North Miami Beach, Mr. Macken leveraged his keen understanding of the City’s challenges and opportunities to catalyze the adoption of a revolutionary new master plan. That plan has since resulted in array of new projects, including Aura, a mixed-use project that is poised to transform the West Dixie Highway corridor. 

Adam J. Tiktin

MANAGING PARTNER

Throughout his career, Mr. Tiktin has demonstrated a remarkable track record of successful sales and strategic divestments. He has closed over $3 billion in commercial real estate and transacted over 500 closed “sides.” Prior to launching his own brokerage, Tiktin was a First Vice President Investments of a publicly traded national firm and was the Top Agent in its Miami office. Mr. Tiktin had become the firm’s most senior agent after spending 15 years building both a strong client following and a skill set that effectively connects sellers and buyers. 

Prior to that, Mr. Tiktin was a partner in a regional business brokerage firm based in Ft. Lauderdale. This experience combined with his extensive background in construction, development, finance, and accounting allows him the ability to provide a high level of expertise to his partners and his investors.

In 2021, he sold his brokerage company, Tiktin Real Estate Investment Services, following his earlier achievements including selling a chain of Miami Subs Restaurants in 2001 and his construction company, Southern Energy & Construction Corp., in 1998. Along the way, he has personally overseen the sale of dozens of commercial and residential properties, cementing his reputation as a dynamic and accomplished entrepreneur. 

Mr. Tiktin received a Bachelor of Science in Management with an Accounting concentration from Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business and worked as a CPA at Price Waterhouse. A Native of Miami, FL, Adam Currently Serves on the Florida International University (FIU) Hollo School of Real Estate’s Advisory Board, and is Active Locally, Nationally, and Internationally in a number of Philanthropic Endeavors.

Andrew K. Verzura

MANAGING PARTNER

Andy Verzura serves as Principal of VCM Builders, a prominent South Florida-based construction firm with nearly 30 years of experience servicing the tri-county area as well as the west coast of Florida. The firm’s portfolio features a wide variety of completed projects across all scales and asset classes, including commercial retail centers, office buildings, custom estates, multi-family apartments, tenant buildouts and interiors, and renovations to both residential and commercial buildings. VCM Builders has won several construction and development awards for residential and commercial construction throughout the tri-county area and west coast of Florida. 

Some of their notable projects include: the Walmart-anchored Palmetto Design Center in Miami Gardens; Strada 315 in Fort Lauderdale; the Koya Bay waterfront townhome community in North Miami Beach; Ocean City

Lofts in Delray Beach; Island City Lofts in Wilton Manors; Beach House residential development in east Fort Lauderdale; and the Parallel Townhome Collection in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Mr. Verzura has also served as a third-party contractor and Owner’s Representative for many high-end new construction and renovation projects throughout South Florida

A South Florida native and second-generation general contractor with nearly three decades of experience, Mr. Verzura has the technical skillset to ensure the highest level of quality control on all construction and renovation projects. His critical eye for design and impeccable reputation distinguishes him from his industry peers.

Mr. Verzura graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Construction Management and Engineering.
